Avianca announced from Toronto during its participation in the Exoticca event on September 23 that it will close out 2025 with a significant expansion of its operations in Canada. The airline will launch approximately 30 weekly frequencies connecting Toronto and Montreal with Bogotá and San Salvador, thereby solidifying a direct bridge between North America, Central America, and South America.
The San Salvador–Toronto route, which operated with seven weekly frequencies during December 2023 and January 2024, will grow to 11 weekly frequencies during the same period in 2025 and 2026. Meanwhile, the Bogotá–Toronto route will maintain 11 frequencies, the Bogotá–Montreal route will operate with 4 frequencies, and San Salvador–Montreal will add 3 frequencies.
