Cathay Pacific announced this Monday that it will reconnect Hong Kong with Seattle starting 30 March 2026. The airline will operate five direct round-trip flights per week, enhancing the connectivity of its Asian hub with one of the most dynamic cities on the US West Coast.

This move makes Seattle Cathay Pacific’s ninth passenger destination in North America, solidifying the expansion strategy the airline has been developing on the continent.

Sustained Growth in the North American Market

Simultaneously, the company continues to increase its capacity in the United States. In April of this year, it launched its direct route to Dallas-Fort Worth. This service currently operates four times weekly and will transition to a daily schedule from 26 October 2025 due to strong demand.

Lavinia Lau, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer at Cathay Pacific, emphasized that the return to Seattle will strengthen commercial and cultural ties between Hong Kong and a major US technology hub. She added that the route will facilitate the growing need for connectivity between Asia and North America, particularly for travelers from Mainland China and India.

The flights will be operated using the Airbus A350-900, aircraft equipped with fully flat beds in Business Class, spacious seats in Premium Economy, and enhanced comfort in Economy Class.

Cathay Pacific Orders 14 Additional Boeing 777-9 Jets

With this reinforcement, Cathay Pacific’s summer schedule in North America will reach over 110 round-trip flights per week to cities including Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Special Launch Promotion

The airline will put tickets on sale starting today. To celebrate the opening of its ninth passenger route in North America, it is offering a promotional round-trip Economy Class fare starting from HK$5,060 (approximately US$650).

The promotion will be valid from 22 September to 31 October 2025, for flights between Hong Kong and Seattle scheduled from 30 March to 30 June 2026, subject to terms and conditions.

Onboard Experience and Service Enhancements

Cathay Pacific continues to focus on elevating the customer experience on its North American routes. The airline has already introduced its Aria Suite in Business Class, along with a refreshed Premium Economy and enhancements in the Economy cabin, available on selected flights to Vancouver.

Concurrently, it is preparing to open its first exclusive lounge in New York, a nearly 10,000-square-foot space set to begin operations at JFK Airport’s modern Terminal 6 in 2026.

Onboard, passengers will continue to enjoy entertainment recognized as the world’s best by Skytrax, alongside menus designed in collaboration with Michelin-starred restaurants from Hong Kong, available in all classes on long-haul flights.

Benefits for Cargo Transport

The return to Seattle also increases options for cargo customers. The belly-hold capacity of the passenger flights adds to the nearly 40 weekly cargo services that Cathay Cargo plans to operate to North America during the summer of 2026.
