Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority reported that between January and August 2025, 37.7 million passengers traveled on domestic and international flights. This figure represents a 2% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
The report from the Authority’s Analytics Office details that 21,288,316 passengers were transported on domestic routes and 16,423,884 users on international operations. The most dynamic activity was in the air market with South America, particularly to Lima, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Guayaquil.
Twelve-Month Balance: September 2024 to August 2025
In the twelve-month cumulative period, from September 2024 to August 2025, the total number of air transport users reached 57.3 million, reflecting a 5.1% growth compared to the previous annual period.

Cargo and Mail Transport
In addition to passenger traffic, the cargo and mail sector also showed progress. Between January and August 2025, 623,933 tons were transported, a 1.7% increase compared to the same span in 2024, when 613,388 tons were recorded.
In the annual analysis (September 2024 – August 2025), the figure rose to 954,782 tons, equivalent to a 4.14% increase compared to the previous year.
Increased Dynamism on Domestic Routes
Within the domestic segment, national cargo showed notable growth of 5.7% during the first eight months of 2025. The routes that contributed the most to freight movement were:
- Bogotá – Rionegro
- Bogotá – San Andrés
- Bogotá – Cartagena
- Cali – Bogotá
- Cartagena – San Andrés
