Doha Airport (Qatar) Breaks Record with Over 5 Million Passengers in August

Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, reached an unprecedented milestone in August 2025: more than five million passengers in a single month. This is the first time in its history that it has achieved this figure, cementing its position as a global aviation hub without compromising the quality of service offered to each traveler.

This milestone represents a 6.4% increase in passenger traffic compared to August 2024. Of this total, 1.3 million were point-to-point travelers—a category that grew by 12% year-on-year, reflecting the rising demand for direct flights to and from Qatar. These results reaffirm the role of aviation as a key driver of the country’s economic diversification.

International Recognition

This achievement follows the publication of the Airports Council International World’s World Airport Traffic Dataset 2025, which ranks Doha among the world’s busiest international airports.

Factors Behind the Growth

Capacity Expansion and Strategic Alliances

Infrastructure expansion and strong airline partnerships have been decisive.

  • Qatar Airways increased frequencies to more than 15 key destinations worldwide, enhancing global connectivity through its hub.
  • Virgin Australia launched new flights to Doha.
  • Philippine Airlines and Air Arabia expanded their capacity, boosting offerings in both regional and long-haul markets.

Thanks to these initiatives, transit through Hamad International Airport has become smoother and more convenient, both for connecting passengers and those starting or ending their journey in Doha.

Passenger Experience at the Core

Growth has not come at the expense of service. During August, satisfaction surveys revealed a global approval rating of 98%, with 92% of travelers rating security processes as excellent.

This level of approval confirms that the airport has successfully combined record volume with attention to detail, maintaining the trust of millions of users.
