Emirates has unveiled its new flight crew training centre, a state-of-the-art complex designed to support the airline’s strategic growth. The 63,318-square-foot facility, equipped with six full-flight simulators (FFS), will cater to both current pilots and those preparing to operate the upcoming fleet of Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X aircraft.

Strategically located in Dubai, in close proximity to the airline’s other training facilities, this new centre reinforces the city’s role as a leading global aviation hub.

An Investment of 500 Million Dirhams

The Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, described the opening as a “game-changer” for the industry.

“Every dirham of our AED 500 million investment is already delivering value. The centre sets new standards in aeronautical training and prepares our crew for the future fleet,” he stated.

Pioneering Technology to Optimize Learning

The complex is notable for integrating the innovative Pilot Support Station (PSS), a system developed in-house by Emirates. This tool allows pilots to configure the cockpit and design flight plans in a fully immersive environment before starting a session. Furthermore, each training session is fully recorded, facilitating detailed performance analysis.

The centre also incorporates advanced 3D printing, used to manufacture complex components for the maintenance of simulation equipment. This resource generates an estimated annual saving of up to AED 1 million.

Expanding Training Capacity

The centre is already operational with two Airbus A350 simulators, while four more, including those for the Boeing 777X, will be installed in the coming years. Each simulator can deliver 7,500 hours of training for up to 1,000 pilots annually.

When the complex is fully operational, Emirates will have 17 simulators across its Dubai centres, 11 of which are for the A380 and Boeing 777 models. This will represent a 54% expansion in training capacity, reaching a total of 130,000 annual training hours for its pilot community.

Comprehensive Training Beyond the Cockpit

In addition to this new centre, Emirates maintains a portfolio of top-tier training programs through institutions such as the Emirates Flight Training Academy for cadets, Emirates Aviation University, the Emirates Cabin Crew Training Centre, and Emirates Aviation College, which offer hundreds of specialized courses in technical competencies and soft skills.

Opportunities for Pilots

The airline, recognized as the world’s largest international carrier with the biggest fleets of A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, is seeking new talent for its Direct Entry Captain, Accelerated Command, and non-type rated First Officer programs.
