Icelandair to Add Two New Airbus A321LR Aircraft to Its Fleet

Icelandair has announced the signing of lease agreements with CALC for the addition of two new Airbus A321LR aircraft. With this decision, the airline begins a new phase of cooperation with the lessor, built on a shared vision and long-term collaboration.

The two aircraft will be delivered directly from the Airbus factory during the 2026/2027 winter season, supporting the airline’s transition toward a more modern and sustainable fleet.

Progressive Replacement of the Boeing 757

The arrival of these A321LRs is part of Icelandair’s fleet renewal strategy, which continues to replace its Boeing 757s. The European model not only offers greater operational range but also significant improvements in fuel efficiency and a reduction in emissions—aspects aligned with the company’s environmental goals.

In addition to technical performance, the A321LR stands out for featuring Airbus’s award-winning Airspace cabin design. This cabin concept promises to enhance the passenger experience with greater comfort and modernity, further strengthening Icelandair’s commitment to quality service.
