KLM confirmed that 100 flights will be canceled this Wednesday due to a two-hour strike announced by ground staff, as reported by the ANP news agency. The decision will directly impact 27,000 passengers, leading to another day of disruptions at European airports.
Ongoing Union Negotiations
The Dutch company reached an agreement with some unions last week, but the understanding did not include all organizations. Two unions that were left out of the deal confirmed they will proceed with the protests, insisting on improved terms in the collective bargaining agreement.

This Wednesday’s strike is only the beginning: unions have also scheduled a second, four-hour strike for next Wednesday, September 17, also in the morning.
Impact on Flight Scheduling
A strike of this nature not only causes immediate cancellations. The ripple effects can disrupt the entire day’s schedule, leading to additional delays and complications within the international connection network. For passengers, this means potential last-minute changes, rescheduling, and increased pressure on customer service channels.
