Ryanair reached a new historic milestone in August by carrying 21 million passengers in a single month, the company announced this Tuesday. This is the highest figure ever recorded by the airline for that period, solidifying its position as one of the giants of European air transport.

Sustained Growth During Peak Summer

The low-cost carrier reported a 2% growth in passenger traffic compared to the same month last year, demonstrating robust demand during the high season. Despite increased capacity, Ryanair managed to maintain a load factor of 96%, a level considered excellent within the industry.

Large-Scale Operations

During August, Ryanair operated more than 114,000 flights, reflecting the scale of its operations during the busiest tourist months. This volume of activity underscores the company’s ability to manage an extensive network while maintaining high levels of efficiency amid intense competition.

Annual Performance on the Rise

Over the past 12 months, the Irish airline carried 203.6 million passengers, representing a 6% increase compared to the 192.0 million recorded the previous year.

The milestone achieved in August reinforces Ryanair’s leadership in Europe, where it already ranks among the companies with the highest number of passengers carried. These results strengthen its key role in European air connectivity and position it to close the year with new records in its history.
