Air Canada has decided to enhance the Economy Class experience with a clear commitment to comfort and added value: starting September 1, all passengers on domestic and international flights can enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and Canadian snacks.
The airline, recognized by Skytrax for its service, aims to strengthen its connection with leisure travelers while maintaining its quality proposition for all customers.
“As part of our commitment to elevating the onboard experience, we are pleased to introduce more appealing options on our menus,” said Scott O’Leary, Vice President of Loyalty and Product at Air Canada. “These enhancements offer something for every traveler and highlight Canadian brands, allowing our customers to relax and begin their journeys on a high note.”
An Offering Designed for Every Time of Day
Morning Flight Options
Before 10:00 a.m., passengers can enjoy MadeGood Mornings Cinnamon Bun Soft Baked Oat Bars, a soft oatmeal bar with a popular cinnamon roll flavor in Canada. This offering is complemented by classics like TWIGZ Craft Pretzels and the traditional Leclerc Celebration Cookies.
Exclusivity on Specific Routes
On flights from Toronto’s Downtown Billy Bishop Airport departing after 10:30 a.m., the airline introduces an innovative product: Greenhouse Ginger Defence Wellness Shots, known for being organic and plant-based. These energizing shots, also available in premium baskets and on the Bistro menu, reinforce Air Canada’s commitment to healthy, high-quality products.

Expansion of the Air Canada Bistro
The paid menu, Air Canada Bistro, is adding more options of Canadian origin. Passengers can now find everything from Summer Fresh Hummus & Crackers and Quaker Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal Cups, to new versions of pretzels like TWIGZ Sour Cream & Onion and the classic national candy: Smarties.
Innovation in Beverages Too: North America’s First Inflight 0.0 Beer
The airline becomes the only one in North America to offer non-alcoholic beer onboard. With the addition of Heineken 0.0, passengers can enjoy a refreshing alternative alongside the complimentary selection of beer and wine available on all flights.
Beyond Catering: Enhancements Across the Entire Air Canada Experience
The news isn’t limited to food and drink. Air Canada has implemented a series of improvements that solidify its position as a service leader:
- A revamped mobile application for easier management of travel details.
- Expanded onboard entertainment, with more options for all tastes.
- Redesigned and expanded lounges, offering greater comfort on the ground.
- More efficient airport processes, reducing wait times.
- Aeroplan, a world-class frequent flyer program.
- Enhanced connectivity: Fast, complimentary Wi-Fi, sponsored by Bell, available for Aeroplan members on flights within North America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
These enhancements are valid on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, and Air Canada Express (Jazz), where beverage service is included. As always, the company reminds customers that alcoholic beverages are served only to passengers of legal age and responsibly.
