Air Europa announced on Tuesday that it will begin direct flights between Madrid and Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, starting November 30. The operation will run until January 7, coinciding with the Christmas season, and will be carried out in collaboration with Solaris Air Broker and the tour operator Icárion, which is responsible for marketing trips to this iconic destination in Northern Europe.
Flights Designed for More Time at the Destination
The new connection will allow passengers to make the most of their stay in the land of Father Christmas. Flights will depart from Madrid in the early morning and return from Rovaniemi in the afternoon—a schedule designed to optimize time in Finland and offer travelers a more comprehensive experience.

The route will be operated using the Boeing 737-800. This model guarantees high passenger capacity, operational efficiency, and maximum comfort on short and medium-haul routes, all key factors for a comfortable and safe flight experience during the high season.
A Commitment to Winter Tourism
With this initiative, Air Europa and Icárion are responding to the growing demand for travel to winter destinations. The direct connection to Rovaniemi will facilitate access to one of the most unique and magical places in Northern Europe, bolstering the Christmas tourism offering from Spain and solidifying Air Europa as a key airline for seasonal tourism in Europe.
