American Airlines Launches New Service Between Chicago and Mexico City
American Airlines has inaugurated a new direct service connecting Chicago O’Hare with Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport. This addition strengthens the airline’s network in Mexico and expands connection options for travelers to the United States.
The year-round route will be operated with Boeing 737 aircraft, configured for 172 passengers, including 16 seats in business class, ensuring comfort and constant connectivity between both destinations.
Operating Schedule
- Chicago → Mexico City
Departure: 8:40 a.m.
Arrival: 12:20 p.m.
- Mexico City → Chicago
Departure: 1:20 p.m.
Arrival: 6:40 p.m.
From its Chicago hub, passengers can access over 465 daily peak-hour flights to more than 160 cities within and outside the United States, solidifying O’Hare as a key gateway in American Airlines’ global network.
A Strategic Expansion in Mexico City
With this new route, American Airlines complements its operations in the Mexican capital, which for this winter will include up to 97 weekly flights to seven US hubs: Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), Charlotte, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
“This winter we expect to further strengthen our presence in Mexico City with the new service from Chicago, increasing our capacity at Benito Juárez Airport by 10% and offering our customers even more options for traveling to the United States,” said Jose Maria Giraldo, Managing Director of Operations for Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada, and Central America.
