Etihad Airways has achieved a historic milestone in its growth trajectory by operating 300 scheduled passenger flights per day. This achievement reflects a year-over-year increase of over 20% in the number of daily operations during 2025, solidifying the airline’s position as one of the fastest-growing full-service carriers globally.

This performance, the strongest in the airline’s history, is the result of a combination of operational excellence, strong passenger demand, and sustained network expansion. All operations correspond to commercial passenger flights, reaffirming Etihad’s role as a bridge between cultures and a key driver in positioning Abu Dhabi as one of the world’s most connected and accessible cities.

“Growth Driven by Trust and Dedication”

Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Chief Operations and Guest Officer at Etihad Airways, emphasized that the company’s goal is to continue expanding destinations, fleet, and human talent to make Etihad “the airline everyone wants to fly with.”

“This milestone reflects one of the fastest growth trajectories in the global airline industry, made possible by the dedication of our people and the trust of our passengers,” he stated.

Al Marzouqi underscored that steady growth across all key performance indicators demonstrates the strength of the network and Abu Dhabi’s role as a global aviation hub. “Our progress is efficient, sustainable, and purposeful. True to the meaning of our name, Etihad, which means union, we remain committed to connecting people and opportunities through seamless connectivity and world-class service,” he added.

Expansion Across All Areas

In September 2025, the airline carried 1.9 million passengers, a 21% increase compared to the same month the previous year, while maintaining an 89% load factor.

During the first nine months of 2025, Etihad transported 16.1 million passengers, representing an 18% year-over-year increase. These figures reflect sustained demand and efficient network management.

Etihad’s expansion is not only measured in flights and destinations but also in investment in the passenger experience. The company maintains record levels of customer satisfaction and a consistently high Net Promoter Score, demonstrating its ability to preserve quality standards even during a significant growth phase.

Ongoing improvements in airport services, digital platforms, and onboard products support its commitment to combining operational efficiency with world-class hospitality, offering memorable journeys to its guests.

Network and Fleet Growth

The achievement of 300 daily flights has been driven by one of the most expansive years in Etihad’s history. In September, network capacity increased by 25% year-over-year, supported by fleet growth and the launch of new routes in key markets.

In 2025, the airline has launched or announced 31 new destinations, including Medan (Sumatra), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), and Krabi (Thailand), reaching a global network of nearly 90 destinations. Europe has been a major focus of expansion, with a 35% increase in flights during the summer compared to the previous year.

The operational fleet has grown to 115 aircraft, up from 96 recorded in September 2024, marking one of the most significant years of development. This increase includes new Airbus A350s, Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the return of two additional A380s, and the introduction of A321LRs equipped with private First suites and reclining Business seats, elevating the experience on medium-haul routes and setting a new standard in premium narrow-body aviation.

Zayed International Airport: Gateway to Growth

Etihad’s sustained growth is supported by its operational base at Zayed International Airport (ZIA), which provides the modern and efficient infrastructure necessary to sustain the airline’s expansion.

With a capacity for 45 million annual passengers and 65 boarding gates, the airport integrates advanced biometric systems and optimized processes that allow travelers to go from curb to gate in just 12 minutes. Furthermore, its VIP lounges and premium services elevate every stage of the journey, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience as Etihad continues to expand its global network.
