Porter Airlines to Boost Capacity to Sun Destinations this Winter, Adds Four New Routes

Porter Airlines has unveiled a significant expansion of its winter 2025-2026 schedule, with capacity increases of up to 25% to sun destinations during peak demand periods. The airline also announced the launch of four new routes, broadening its network and strengthening its presence in both the United States and the Caribbean.

First Transborder Flight from Vancouver

One of the most notable announcements is the first transborder service from Vancouver, with a non-stop flight to Phoenix. This new connection provides a key gateway for travelers from Western Canada seeking warm winter climates.

Expansion in Ottawa with Connection to American Airlines Hubs

Ottawa International Airport will be one of the major beneficiaries. Porter is adding routes to Phoenix and Miami, two American Airlines hubs. This move not only provides passengers with access to attractive destinations in their own right but also enhances connectivity across North America thanks to Porter’s recent codeshare agreement with American Airlines.

In addition to the new routes above, Porter will increase capacity on several key southern corridors:

Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, highlighted that the updated winter schedule “represents a major network expansion driven by the strong customer response to our sun markets.” He further emphasized that the strategy is demand-driven, combining new destinations with increased frequencies on popular routes.

“We are committed to offering more choices, more comfort, and the quality service passengers expect from Porter,” Jackson added.

Fleet and In-Flight Experience

This entire expansion will be supported by the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which will operate on all routes. These aircraft feature:
