TrueNoord, a specialist in regional aircraft leasing, has signed an agreement with Embraer to acquire 20 new E195-E2 aircraft, plus purchase rights for up to 30 additional airplanes, comprising 20 E195-E2 and 10 E175 models.
The firm order, based on list prices, is valued at USD 1.8 billion, representing one of the company’s largest transactions to date.
A Key Step in TrueNoord’s Expansion
This agreement marks TrueNoord’s first direct order with an aircraft manufacturer, a move that its CEO, Anne-Bart Tieleman, described as “a milestone in the company’s trajectory.”
According to Tieleman, this purchase strengthens the company’s position as a global leasing platform and reflects its commitment to investing in new-generation aircraft, which are more fuel-efficient and have a lower environmental impact.
“This agreement marks an important step in our continued growth as a global leasing platform. It underlines our commitment to state-of-the-art regional jets that combine efficiency, flexibility, and performance – key elements for our customers worldwide,” the executive emphasized.

Embraer Consolidates E2 Family Leadership
Meanwhile, Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, welcomed the contract as “a demonstration of confidence in the capabilities and market success of the E2 family.”
He highlighted that the E195-E2 offers superior performance, low operating costs, and fuel efficiency, characteristics that make it an attractive choice for both lessors and operators seeking to modernize and ensure the sustainability of their fleets.
“This first direct order from TrueNoord is a strong confirmation of the E2’s efficiency and of the collaborative work between our two companies,” stated Meijer. “It sends a clear message to the market: new-generation regional aircraft are gaining momentum and meeting the growing demand for right-sized, sustainable airplanes.”
The strategic move by TrueNoord and Embraer comes in a global context where airlines and leasing companies are seeking to reduce emissions and optimize profitability through more efficient and lighter fleets.
