Vietjet, Vietnam’s leading private airline, has converted the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in June for the acquisition of 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft into a firm order. This agreement reinforces the company’s strategy focused on network expansion and fleet modernization, bringing the total number of orders for the model to 280 aircraft.

A Long-Term Commitment with Airbus

The announcement comes just months after the order for 20 wide-body A330neo aircraft placed in May, further solidifying the strategic partnership between Vietjet and Airbus. With this new deal, the airline takes a decisive step in its growth plan, combining operational efficiency and sustainability.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales for Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, highlighted: “The proven efficiency and flexibility of the A321neo make it the ideal platform to support Vietjet’s ambitious expansion. Combined with the A330neo, this fleet will offer the best operational economy and full commonality across operations, which are distinctive features of the Airbus product family.”

A321neo: Efficiency, Range, and Comfort

The A321neo—the largest version of the successful A320neo family—offers greater range and exceptional performance. Thanks to its new-generation engines and Sharklets, this model achieves a 50% reduction in noise and more than 20% savings in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared to previous-generation single-aisle aircraft, while simultaneously maximizing passenger comfort.

As of the end of September 2025, Airbus has received over 7,100 orders for the A321neo from nearly 100 customers worldwide, cementing its position as one of the most in-demand aircraft models on the market due to its combination of efficiency, sustainability, and capacity.
