Air Canada has announced the most ambitious cabin renovation program in its history, aiming to deliver a more comfortable, connected, and consistent experience across all its flights within North America. This multi-year investment covers the operations of Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, and Air Canada Express, and incorporates redesigned interiors, state-of-the-art technology, and details inspired by feedback from customers and employees.
A cornerstone of the project is the implementation of Fast, Free Wi-Fi, sponsored by Bell, considered the most comprehensive free connectivity service in the industry.
Air Canada Rouge: New Identity and Renewed Fleet
All Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft currently in the main fleet will be transferred to Air Canada Rouge by 2026. These aircraft will feature:
- 12 Business class seats
- 18 Preferred seats with extra legroom
- 147 standard Economy class seats
Every seat will be reclinable, include individual on-demand entertainment screens, and provide access to Fast, Free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan members.
Additionally, a new Rouge crew base will open in Vancouver, expanding options for leisure travelers in Western Canada.

Modernization of Airbus A320 and A321
Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft will operate exclusively in the main Air Canada fleet. Their interiors will be updated to the airline’s new design standard, which combines a modern, accessible, and warm Canadian aesthetic. The improvements include:
- New seats
- Upgraded entertainment system
- Fast and free Wi-Fi
Currently, 15 Airbus A321s are already flying with these renovations.
Expansion of Airbus A220 Fleet
Air Canada continues to bet on the Airbus A220-300, an aircraft designed and manufactured in Quebec, known for its efficiency, technology, and comfort. The airline has 26 additional units on order, which will incorporate the new design standard and Airbus’s XL overhead bins starting in March 2026.
Air Canada Express: Improvements Also on Regional Flights
The transformation also reaches Air Canada Express, operated by Jazz. The Embraer E175 and Mitsubishi CRJ-900 models will receive the new cabin standard starting in 2026. Currently, 55% of this fleet already features state-of-the-art Fast, Free Wi-Fi.
Furthermore, the 25 De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft will be completely redesigned, with new interiors and seats. Those operating from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport will also incorporate advanced Wi-Fi connectivity.
Enhanced Onboard Service: Free Drinks and Snacks
Complementing the technical improvements, Air Canada will offer complimentary beer, wine, and premium snacks on all flights operated by Air Canada, Rouge, and Express (Jazz). Notable options include:
- MadeGood Morning Bars on flights before 10 a.m.
- TWIGZ Seasoned Pretzels
- Leclerc Célébration Cookies
These options, all of Canadian origin, aim to enrich the passenger experience on every journey.
This ambitious renovation program reaffirms Air Canada’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, positioning the airline as a leader in the North American market.
