The Dominican airline Arajet has successfully obtained the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) certification, awarded by the International Air Transport Association. This registration represents the highest standard of operational safety auditing within the global airline industry.
With this certification, Arajet becomes the first airline from the Dominican Republic to be listed on the IOSA registry, solidifying its commitment to excellence, quality, and safety in each of its operations.
An Achievement That Validates Processes and Safety Culture
Victor Miguel Pacheco, CEO of Arajet, emphasized that this recognition “not only validates the safety culture we practice daily but also confirms that our processes are aligned with the highest international standards.” He added that being the first Dominican airline to obtain this certification “is a source of national pride and a vote of confidence for our passengers, employees, and partners across the region.”
The IOSA registry conducts standardized audits of airline operational management and control systems. Evaluated areas include flight operations, dispatch, maintenance, airworthiness, ground services, and cabin operations. Passing this audit signifies having undergone a comprehensive review based on industry best practices.

Institutional Support and Strategic Vision
During the certificate presentation ceremony, Igor Rodriguez, Director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), celebrated the milestone achieved by Arajet: “As Director of IDAC, we celebrate this historic achievement: Arajet’s entry into the IATA IOSA registry. This accomplishment confirms compliance with the highest international standards of operational safety and solidifies the Dominican Republic’s leadership as an air hub for the Americas.”
For his part, Serkan Simitcioglu, Head of the IATA IOSA Program, explained that “IOSA promotes an operational discipline that is transversal to all areas of an airline. The audit process—which includes document review, interviews, and live observation of operations—enables airlines to strengthen their safety culture and reach the next level in international standards.”
This advancement positions Arajet as a benchmark for operational safety in Latin America and sets a precedent for Dominican aviation on the international stage.
