Buraq Air, the first private airline in Libya, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the acquisition of 10 A320neo family aircraft. The announcement was made during the Dubai Airshow, in the presence of Fouzi Almiqalh, Chairman of the General Assembly of Buraq Air, and Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales for Airbus’ commercial aircraft division.
According to Fouzi Almiqalh, this agreement represents “a significant step forward for Buraq Air in our fleet modernization and route network expansion process.” The introduction of the A320neo will allow the airline to strengthen its core network while simultaneously providing an efficient and flexible platform for its strategic partner, Medsky Airways.
Synergy with Medsky Airways
The partnership with Medsky Airways is an essential component of Buraq Air’s expansion plan. The choice of the A320neo will facilitate a more integrated service offering between the two companies, enhancing the passenger experience and optimizing joint operations.

Airbus Welcomes a New Customer
For the European manufacturer, Benoit de Saint-Exupéry expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the agreement: “We are delighted to welcome Buraq Air as a new customer for the A320 family. We thank them for their trust and reaffirm our commitment to supporting their strategic growth plan.”
