Copa Airlines announced a new advancement in its connectivity with Venezuela after successfully completing a test flight to La Chinita International Airport in Maracaibo. This evaluation is part of the airline’s ongoing process of analyzing operational alternatives to connect its passengers to and from the country.

The company determined that operations to the Maracaibo airport are safe and reliable, as it is equipped with approach systems that mitigate operational risks associated with potential intermittent navigation signals. This result was key to the decision-making process, as it guarantees adequate conditions for both passengers and crew.

Options for Passengers with Affected Flights To or From Caracas

Copa Airlines reminded travelers with tickets scheduled to or from Caracas up to the suspension date that they have several alternatives:

  • Change the date or modify the origin/destination within the same region, including routes to or from Maracaibo, as well as to or from Cúcuta, with no additional charges.
  • Cancel the itinerary, retaining the ticket value as credit for a future date.
  • Refund unused or partially used tickets, manageable via www.copa.com.

Commitment to Passengers

The airline reiterated its commitment to the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew and invited the public to stay informed through its official channels. It also recommended checking the flight status before traveling using the mobile app or the website.
