Royal Air Maroc will inaugurate a direct service between Los Angeles and Casablanca on June 7, 2026. This will be the first non-stop connection between Africa and the US Pacific Coast, with an estimated flight time of 11 hours. The company is thus taking a significant step in expanding its long-haul network.
A Move Linked to Growth in Intercontinental Traffic
The airline will operate three weekly frequencies. The decision is tied to the increase in international travel ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The route will serve the Moroccan and African diaspora, leisure travelers, corporate passengers, and fans flying from Morocco, Africa, and Europe to the United States for this sporting event.
Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, highlighted the significance of the announcement: “This direct route to Los Angeles is much more than a new destination; it marks a historic milestone for Royal Air Maroc and for air connectivity on the African continent.”
He added that this operation supports the Kingdom’s international momentum and strengthens the country’s presence in one of the world’s largest outbound tourism markets.
