Venezuela took a significant step to strengthen its presence in the Asian tourism market after holding a strategic meeting with representatives from Air China during the International Travel Mart (CITM). The central focus of the meeting was evaluating alternatives to improve air connectivity between the two nations, a key factor for boosting tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
The Minister of People’s Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, led the talks with Li Liyang, General Marketing Manager of Air China, with the goal of positioning Venezuela as a competitive destination within the Asian market. The meeting also included the participation of Venezuela’s Ambassador to China, Remigio Ceballos, who supported the diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

During the conversation, Venezuela formally expressed its interest in moving toward greater air connectivity. The proposal presented is structured around two concrete alternatives: increasing existing frequencies via a stop in Havana, or opening a direct route connecting China with Venezuelan territory.
Air China representatives expressed a favorable disposition to analyze operational schemes that would make this cooperation viable.
This engagement highlights the mutual interest in exploring solutions that shorten geographical distances through efficient and modern air connectivity, aligned with the current needs of the international market.
