Ancona Joins the Destination Network in December 2025
Intending to continue consolidating its presence in Madrid, the company also announced the launch of a direct connection with Ancona, located in the Marche region on the Adriatic coast. The service will begin on December 19, 2025, and will include two weekly frequencies, also on Mondays and Fridays. Starting in May 2026, the operation will switch to Thursdays and Sundays, allowing the offering to be adapted to the period of highest demand.
Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s Chief Strategy Officer, highlighted that in 2025 the company continues to expand its network from Madrid. He noted that, after recently adding domestic routes to Asturias and Vitoria, international connectivity is now being strengthened with Genoa and Ancona. According to him, the company aims to offer direct, comfortable, and competitively priced alternatives, bringing Madrid travelers closer to national and international destinations while also encouraging more European visitors to choose Madrid to experience its cultural and gastronomic offerings.

A Network to Reach 12 Routes in 2026
The airline plans to operate 12 routes from Madrid in 2026. Its program will include connections with France, Italy, Spain, and Greece. In France, it will offer five destinations: Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, and Toulouse. In Italy, it will have four options: Ancona, Genoa, Olbia, and Verona. Within Spain, it will maintain links to Asturias and Vitoria. It will also feature a route to Athens operated under a codeshare agreement with Aegean.
Volotea arrived in Madrid in 2017 and expects to end the year having carried over 820,000 passengers from the capital.
