Air France will reposition itself at the center of the premium aviation and major international events map in 2026. The French airline confirmed the operation of special direct flights between the United States and Nice, specifically designed to coincide with two of the most influential events on the global calendar: the Cannes Film Festival and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The proposal combines point-to-point connectivity, an ultra-high-end product, and a clear brand positioning strategy.
Direct Connectivity for High-Profile Events
As a historic partner of the Cannes Film Festival, Air France will again operate direct flights between Los Angeles and Nice in May 2026, facilitating access for the U.S. film industry to the French Riviera during the European spring. This operation will be complemented in June by special flights between New York-JFK and Nice, aimed at the corporate and creative audience attending the Cannes Lions Festival, scheduled for June 22–26, 2026.
Schedule and Operation: Precision Designed for the Premium Passenger
Flights from Los Angeles (LAX) will be concentrated around the Cannes Film Festival, with the following schedule (local time):
- May 11, 2026: Flight AF041, departure from Los Angeles at 14:00, arrival in Nice at 10:35 the following day.
- May 25, 2026: Flight AF040, departure from Nice at 13:15, arrival in Los Angeles at 16:30 the same day.
For the East Coast market, Air France scheduled the following flights between New York-JFK and Nice:
- June 20 and 21, 2026: Flight AF043, departure from JFK at 16:30, arrival in Nice at 10:35 the following day.
- June 25 and 26, 2026: Flight AF042, departure from Nice at 12:00, arrival at JFK at 15:00 the same day.
All these operations will be carried out using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, configured with the new La Première cabin, Air France’s most exclusive product.

La Première: The Strategic Pillar of the Long-Haul Product
The deployment of these special flights is no coincidence. Air France is leveraging these services to showcase its new La Première, a fully redesigned suite that represents the airline’s highest standard. Each suite offers a completely private concept, with five windows, a seat and chaise longue combination that transforms into a two-meter bed, and an environment designed as a personal “cocoon.”
The equipment includes two 32-inch 4K screens, a touch tablet, universal outlets, wireless charging, and a floor-to-ceiling curtain ensuring total privacy. Air France does not specify the exact cabin density in this announcement—a relevant detail for evaluating yield and availability impact.
Global Rollout of La Première Through the End of 2026
Beyond the flights to Nice, the airline confirmed that during the upcoming Northern Hemisphere summer, the new La Première will be available on routes from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Abidjan, Atlanta, Boston, Dubai, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York-JFK, San Francisco, São Paulo, Singapore, Tel Aviv, Tokyo-Haneda, and Washington D.C.
A key detail for the North American market: Starting in July 2026, all Air France flights to New York-JFK and Los Angeles will be operated exclusively by aircraft equipped with the new La Première. Furthermore, the company expects that by the end of 2026, the entire La Première network will feature these suites, thus completing a comprehensive product renewal process.
In this way, Air France is using major cultural events as a platform to consolidate its leadership in the premium segment, reinforcing its French identity and value proposition in strategic markets such as the United States.
