Airbus once again demonstrated in 2025 why it remains a key barometer of global commercial aviation. In an operational context the company itself describes as “complex and dynamic,” the European manufacturer delivered 793 commercial aircraft to 91 customers worldwide, a year-on-year increase of 4%. It closed the year with a record order backlog of 8,754 aircraft, the highest ever recorded by the company.

For airlines, lessors, and suppliers, these figures confirm a clear trend: the structural demand for new aircraft remains strong, for both single-aisle and wide-body models.

Increased Deliveries in a Challenging Environment

Airbus managed to maintain an upward trajectory in its annual deliveries, despite persistent supply chain tensions and a demanding industrial environment. The 793 deliveries in 2025 surpass the 766 in 2024 and 735 in 2023, solidifying a sustained recovery in production pace.

The breakdown by aircraft family clearly shows where the heart of the market lies:

  • A220 Family: 93 units delivered, up from 75 in 2024 and 68 in 2023.
  • A320 Family: 607 aircraft, slightly above the 602 from the previous year.
  • A330 Family: 36 aircraft, an improvement from the 32 in 2024.
  • A350 Family: 57 deliveries, in line with 2024 but below the 64 from 2023.

Single-aisle aircraft remain the volume pillar, but wide-body models show relevant stability in a market that is once again betting on long-range connectivity.

New Operators and Expanding Key Programs

2025 was also marked by landmark deliveries and the addition of new operators for several strategic programs. Airbus highlighted new customers for the A220, A321XLR, A330neo, and A350-1000 across all regions of the world.

Orders: 1,000 Gross Orders

On the commercial front, Airbus logged 1,000 gross orders in 2025 from 57 customers, resulting in 889 net orders after cancellations. The breakdown by program again underscores market priorities:

  • 49 A220
  • 656 A320 Family aircraft
  • 100 A330neo
  • 2 A330 MRTT
  • 193 A350

Record Order Backlog: Long-Term Strength

The most compelling figure comes at the end of the fiscal year: a total order backlog of 8,754 aircraft, a historical record for Airbus. Within that number, the wide-body segment also reached an unprecedented high, with 1,124 aircraft pending delivery.

What Still Lies Ahead

Airbus reported that its full 2025 financial results will be published on February 19, 2026. That announcement will be key to understanding how these strong commercial results translate into margins, cash flow, and future investment capacity.
