Dominican airline Arajet successfully concluded a three-day “Open Day” to integrate new professionals into its corporate structure. This initiative seeks to consolidate the company’s growth and position the country as the Caribbean’s primary aerial connection hub.

Boosting Human Capital and Aeronautical Development

Between March 16 and 18, Arajet conducted a talent recruitment session at its headquarters, aimed at strengthening the local aviation industry. The event served not only as a recruitment process but also as a platform for applicants to learn about the corporate vision, career paths, and the expansion roadmap the airline projects for both national and regional markets.

The central objective of the initiative was to identify Dominican professionals, gaining deeper insight into their aspirations and development interests within a sector that demands high technical specialization.

Key Figures of Call: Pilots, Technicians, and Crew

The response from industry professionals was massive, reflecting the interest in joining the Dominican flag carrier. During the first two days, the focus was on flight and maintenance personnel:

  • Pilot Corps: More than 35 Dominican pilots participated. Vacancies focused on the First Officer position and, most notably, on the Cadet program—an exclusive initiative designed to foster the generational transition of local talent.
  • Cabin Crew (TCP): Registration saw over 120 applicants interested in on-board service.
  • Aeronautical Maintenance: More than 100 maintenance technicians joined the process, ensuring the technical sustainability of the fleet.

In addition to these profiles, other professionals indirectly linked to flight operations also participated in the information sessions.

Strategic Vision: Dominican Republic as a Regional Hub

For Arajet CEO Víctor Pacheco Méndez, Dominican talent possesses exceptional potential to lead aviation in the region. According to the executive, these actions not only bolster the company’s internal operations but also act as a catalyst for the national economy.

“At Arajet, we are committed to creating real opportunities for professional development, betting on training, inclusion, and the sustainable growth of our people,” stated Pacheco Méndez.

The airline’s strategy aims for a dual impact: generating high-quality jobs and promoting the technical specialization necessary for the Dominican Republic to definitively consolidate itself as a logistics and transportation node in the Caribbean.
