The Canary Islands-based airline Binter has announced an ambitious expansion of its summer schedule, increasing frequencies on key routes to the Balearic Islands, Galicia, Northern Spain, and the Portuguese archipelago to meet high seasonal demand.
Strengthening the Domestic Network: Balearic Islands and Northern Spain
Binter has designed a strategy focused on improving connectivity with destinations that have historically shown high demand. This expansion includes the reinforcement of strategic connections with the Balearic Archipelago and various points across the Iberian Peninsula.
Connections with the Balearic Islands
- Menorca: Starting June 15, the seasonal route resumes with an additional flight, connecting with Gran Canaria on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
- Mallorca: Adds one Sunday frequency, reaching 11 weekly flights.
- Distribution: Connections are split between five frequencies to Gran Canaria and six to Tenerife North Airport (TFN).
Reinforcements in Galicia and the Cantabrian Coast
- Vigo (VGO): The route will operate daily, featuring double frequencies six days a week due to the addition of Monday and Thursday flights.
- A Coruña (LCG): Reaches five weekly flights after adding a Friday frequency. Operations run via Gran Canaria on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and via Tenerife North on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
- Pamplona (PNA): Increases its offer to five weekly flights (Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays to Gran Canaria; Tuesdays and Saturdays to Tenerife North).
- Valencia (VLC): The route, launched last year, adds a Tuesday frequency. It will connect with the Canaries every day except Saturdays, with double frequencies on four of those days.

International Expansion: Madeira and the Azores
The airline is also boosting its presence in the Portuguese market, improving capillarity between the archipelagos of Macaronesia.
- Madeira: Direct flights will be offered from Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife South to Funchal (FNC).
- Funchal Routes: The Lanzarote–Funchal route adds a Tuesday frequency, while Gran Canaria will offer a daily flight, including double frequencies on Sundays to facilitate return travel.
- Azores: Binter is moving up its start of operations. Flights to Gran Canaria will begin April 4, and Tenerife operations move to June 2 (one month earlier than last year).
Inter-Azores Connectivity: Thanks to an interline agreement with SATA Azores Airlines, passengers can connect to eight additional islands in the Portuguese archipelago (Flores, Horta, Pico, São Jorge, Corvo, Graciosa, Santa María, and Terceira) under a single ticket and through-check-in.
“Canarian Way”: Service Differentiation
A fundamental pillar of this expansion is maintaining the company’s competitive advantages. Binter offers free inter-island connections in the Canaries for its passengers on domestic and Azores routes, allowing them to link to any island in the archipelago at no additional cost.
Fleet and In-flight Experience
Operations are supported by a modern and efficient fleet:
- Embraer E195-E2: The quietest and most efficient single-aisle jet in its class, configured without middle seats for greater passenger comfort.
- ATR 72: For short-haul segments and inter-island connectivity.
Passengers enjoy premium included services, such as a complimentary gourmet snack and guaranteed carry-on luggage on board. Additionally, the company promotes products like Discover (its stopover program) and the AirPass Explorer to encourage multi-island tourism.
