Breeze Airways has announced the launch of two new international non-stop services from Tampa International Airport to San Jose, Costa Rica, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the carrier’s growth following its certification as a “flag carrier” by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) late last year.
Strategic Expansion in the Caribbean and Central America
With the addition of these new routes, the airline’s global network now encompasses more than 300 direct routes connecting 87 cities across the United States, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
David Neeleman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Breeze Airways, highlighted that this announcement doubles the number of international destinations served by the airline from Tampa. Meanwhile, Michael Stephens, CEO of TPA, noted the historical significance of the Costa Rica flight, marking the first time in over 25 years that the airport has offered this direct connection.
Service Details and Fares
Travelers can now book seats for these new routes, which will operate under the following schedule:

Innovation and Onboard Experience with the Airbus A220-300
Breeze’s growth is underpinned by its fleet of factory-new Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The airline aims to redefine the low-cost flight experience as a high-quality option through the following services:
- Connectivity: High-speed onboard Wi-Fi.
- Flexibility: No change or cancellation fees.
- Comfort: Premium seating options and free family seat assignments.
This strengthening of connectivity from Tampa underscores the airline’s commitment to serving markets that previously lacked direct links, facilitating access to key tourism hubs in Latin America.
