Delta Air Lines continues to solidify its growth strategy at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport with the launch of new nonstop service to Phoenix and the extension of its Bozeman route for the winter season. These additions aim to provide Texas-based passengers with enhanced connectivity to key recreational destinations and business markets across the Western United States.

Strategic Connectivity: Phoenix and Western Expansion

Starting November 9, 2026, the airline will inaugurate two daily nonstop flights between Austin and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. This operation will be executed by Delta Connection utilizing Embraer 175 aircraft.

This new route not only strengthens commercial ties but also facilitates access to the Sonoran Desert, Scottsdale, and Sedona—regions renowned for their culinary offerings, championship golf courses, and hiking trails.

Extended Service to Bozeman for Ski Season

In response to the demand for travel to mountain destinations, Delta will extend its service on the Austin–Bozeman route into the winter season.

  • Initial Launch: The route will commence on June 13, 2026, with a weekly frequency on Saturdays for the summer.
  • Daily Operation: From December 19, 2026, through March 28, 2027, the service will transition to a daily frequency.

Leadership and Operational Growth in Austin

Delta is currently positioned as the leading global carrier in Austin. For the summer of 2026, the company projects reaching 63 peak-day departures, representing an increase of five daily departures compared to the previous year.

Destination Expansion for 2026

By the end of 2026, the airline plans to serve a total of 30 destinations from the Texas capital. In addition to Phoenix and Bozeman, the network will be bolstered by the addition of services to:

  • Asheville
  • Columbus
  • Kalispell
  • Kansas City

This growth is complemented by Delta’s recent foray into the international market from Austin, featuring direct flights to Cancun and San Jose del Cabo in Mexico.

Commitment to Customer Experience and the Region

Beyond route expansion, the airline has reinforced its infrastructure within the city. Passengers in Austin have access to the Delta Sky Club, a premium lounge noted for its Texas-inspired design and a high-end beverage menu centered on tequilas and mezcals. This club has maintained high levels of customer satisfaction in the Southern region over the past three years.

Finally, the airline’s long-term commitment was solidified last October with the opening of a permanent flight attendant base in Austin, optimizing operational logistics and local economic impact.

“Austin remains a significant and growing city for Delta,” said Amy Martin, Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning. “We are providing customers with even greater access to the most in-demand destinations.”
