Lufthansa has reached a key operational milestone by obtaining certification for 25 of the 28 seats in its new Allegris Business Class aboard the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This progress allows the airline to stabilize its long-haul product offering and open immediate booking availability for its most modern cabin configuration.
Operational Deployment and the “Potsdam” Fleet
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Dreamliner registered as D-ABPM, named “Potsdam,” performed its inaugural flight with the 25 certified seats on the route between Frankfurt and Toronto.
The rollout will quickly extend to the rest of the fleet:
- Fleet Status: Currently, ten new aircraft have arrived in Frankfurt, nine of which are in active service.
- Immediate Schedule: The remaining eight Boeing 787-9s equipped with Allegris are already operating with approved seats or will do so by this Wednesday at the latest.
- Future Projections: Lufthansa Airlines expects to have a total of 29 Boeing 787-9 units by the end of 2027.
