Copa Airlines restarted its flights to the city of Valencia this Saturday, marking a strategic step forward in the recovery of its destination network within Venezuelan territory. With this move, the airline strengthens connectivity between the country’s central region and the rest of the continent through the Hub of the Americas® in Panama.
Network Expansion and Presence in Venezuela
The reactivation of this route positions Valencia as the third city in Venezuela served by the airline, joining current operations in Caracas and Maracaibo. This restart leaves the company just two destinations away from completing the full restoration of its historical presence in the Venezuelan market, where it has built a 29-year track record.
According to Roberto Pulido, General Manager of Copa Airlines in Venezuela, resuming operations in Valencia is a key milestone due to the city’s strategic location. Pulido highlighted that this expansion brings the company closer to the goal of full operational recovery that had been projected for 2024.
Frequencies and Growth Projections
Since April 4, the airline has offered five weekly flights, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Arturo Michelena International Airport (VLN). The company has already outlined a scalability plan for this route:
- From May 1: Capacity will increase to six weekly frequencies.
- From June: The route will transition to daily operations.
Flight Schedules
| Origin | Destination | Flight No. | Departure | Arrival |

Global Connection with Minimal Formalities
The return to Valencia allows passengers from the central region of the country to access a network spanning more than 85 destinations across 32 countries. By connecting through Tocumen International Airport in Panama, travelers have access to more than 375 daily flights with significant logistical benefits:
- Simplified Procedures: Passengers connect without the need to clear customs or immigration in Panama.
- Baggage Management: Checked luggage is registered directly to the final destination.
Service and Added Value
Copa Airlines maintains its focus on world-class service, characterized by its regional leadership in on-time performance. Regardless of the fare class or flight duration, the airline includes snacks and carry-on luggage for all passengers.
This reactivation not only improves transportation options for travelers but also contributes directly to strengthening commercial, tourism, and family ties between Venezuela and the rest of the Americas.
