easyJet has announced a significant expansion of its UK operational network for the upcoming winter season, launching nine new routes. This strategy aims to strengthen the carrier’s presence at regional bases such as Newcastle and Birmingham, while offering direct, affordable connections to iconic capital cities and winter sun destinations.

Regional Connectivity and Expansion Details

The airline has distributed these new operations across six major UK airports: London Luton Airport, London Southend Airport, Belfast, Newcastle, Southampton, and Birmingham.

New Routes and Flight Schedules

The rollout is scheduled to begin in late October 2026, with a particular focus on route exclusivity and frequency:

  • Southampton – Paris Charles de Gaulle: Commencing October 25 with twice-weekly service (Thursdays and Sundays).
  • Belfast – Sharm El Sheikh and Rome: Services will begin on October 25 and 26, respectively.
  • Egypt Route: Operations will run on Wednesdays and Sundays, while the connection to the Italian capital will operate on Mondays and Fridays.
  • London Luton – Ljubljana: Starting October 26, with three weekly flights (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), providing easier access to Lake Bled.
  • London Southend – Budapest: Launching October 26 with twice-weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays).

Growth in Newcastle and Birmingham

easyJet is scaling up operations at its recently opened base in Newcastle, adding three international destinations:

  • Fuerteventura: From October 25 (Thursdays and Sundays).
  • Krakow: From October 26 (Mondays and Fridays).
  • Reykjavik: From October 27 (Tuesdays and Saturdays).

Additionally, from Birmingham, the airline will connect to Agadir, Morocco, starting October 27, operating twice per week.

Exclusivity and Commercial Offering

A fundamental aspect of this announcement is easyJet’s positioning as the sole operator on several specific segments. The company will be the only airline connecting Belfast with Sharm El Sheikh and offering a scheduled route to Rome from that airport. Likewise, it will maintain exclusivity on the London Southend to Budapest and London Luton to Ljubljana routes.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, noted that these routes provide customers with greater choice and connectivity at affordable prices, whether for winter sun-seeking or weekend city breaks.

With this move, easyJet reaffirms its commitment to expansion within the British market, optimizing its offering for travelers looking to secure winter vacations in advance under an efficient low-cost model.
