Philippine Airlines Expands US Network with New Direct Manila-Chicago Route

Philippine Airlines will strengthen connectivity between Southeast Asia and the American Midwest starting November 9, launching direct flights between Manila and Chicago.

The “Windy City” will become the airline’s eighth destination in the United States and its territories. Currently, the carrier operates flights to Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Guam, and Saipan.

Richard Nuttall, president of the airline, highlighted that Chicago is one of the most important hubs in the U.S. Entering this city will not only provide direct access to the Midwest but will also facilitate vital links to regional destinations and major domestic markets in the Philippines through the Manila hub.

Operational Details and Fleet

The service will be operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft, configured to offer a full-service experience that includes onboard catering and superior comfort standards across all cabins.

Flight Schedule

The route will feature three weekly frequencies, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays:

In addition to passenger transport, this route will bolster the company’s cargo capabilities, allowing shipments from the Midwest to integrate efficiently into the airline’s global logistics network.

Launch Offers

To incentivize demand for the route’s inauguration, Philippine Airlines has announced special introductory fares. Passengers can purchase round-trip tickets in Economy Class with a base fare starting at USD 667 for reservations made between April 16 and May 31, 2026.

With this move, the airline not only consolidates its leadership in Southeast Asia but also reaffirms its commitment to expansion in the transpacific market, offering direct alternatives for one of the routes with the highest latent demand toward the Philippine archipelago.
