Air China Cargo has signed a purchase agreement with Airbus to acquire four additional A350F freighters, bringing its total order book for the type to ten aircraft. This strategic move aims to optimize the carrier’s fleet structure and expand its transport capacity to align with the evolving demands of the international air cargo market.
Strategic Expansion and Fleet Optimization
The Asian cargo carrier initially ordered six A350F aircraft in November 2025. With the addition of these four new units, the company establishes a solid foundation for long-term growth and stability.
Wang Hongyan, Vice President of Air China Cargo, highlighted the impact of this acquisition:
“This additional order, following our initial A350F commitment last year, is a crucial strategic decision for the company to further optimize our fleet structure and expand transport capacity. It will enable us to better align with and meet the demands of the international air cargo market, laying a solid foundation for the stable, long-term development of the company.”
