Aeromexico has announced a partnership with streaming platform ViX. From June 11 to July 31, passengers on selected flights will enjoy complimentary inflight Wi-Fi to access the platform’s catalog, including live broadcasts of the summer’s most anticipated soccer tournaments.
Inflight Connectivity and Entertainment at 30,000 Feet
This strategic alliance aims to transform the passenger experience by combining the airline’s technological infrastructure with ViX’s Spanish-language content portfolio. During the promotional period, travelers will be able to connect their personal electronic devices (PEDs) to the onboard Wi-Fi network free of charge, exclusively for browsing within the streaming platform.
The agreement is particularly significant for sports fans, as it will allow them to stream live sports programming, including some of the most important international soccer matches of the summer season.
Service Scope and Requirements
To enjoy this inflight benefit, passengers must meet the following conditions:
- Personal Device: Access is enabled via users’ smartphones, tablets, or laptops.
- Active Account: A registered user account on the streaming platform is required.
- Streaming Access: Content can be streamed directly from the official website or through the ViX mobile app.
- Full Coverage: Users interested in accessing the complete tournament coverage must subscribe to the corresponding premium package directly with the streaming provider.

Assigned Fleet: Boeing and Embraer Models
Connectivity and platform access will not be limited to a single route type; instead, they will be deployed across a significant portion of the “Eagle Knight” airline’s operational capacity. The service will be available on:
- The entire Boeing 737 MAX fleet.
- Selected Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
- Selected Embraer 190 aircraft.
Driving Innovation in the Customer Experience
From an executive perspective, this move addresses the evolving demands of the modern passenger, who prioritizes continuous connectivity even during medium and long-haul routes.
“At Aeromexico, we continue to transform the travel experience for our customers through innovative alliances that allow us to offer the best onboard connectivity and entertainment, thereby responding to the new expectations of today’s passengers,” said Andres Castañeda, Aeromexico’s Executive Vice President of Digital and Customer Experience.
Meanwhile, Joanna Musi, General Manager of Streaming and DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) at ViX, highlighted the importance of expanding the platform’s distribution ecosystem into non-traditional environments:
“Partnering with Aeromexico allows us to bring our platform to places our users never imagined enjoying it: at 30,000 feet. ViX is the only Spanish-language streaming platform with the most comprehensive sports coverage this summer, and today, that experience is available even in the air.”
With the implementation of this temporary service, Aeromexico reaffirms its commitment to modernizing its inflight service, consolidating competitive differentiators by integrating free, entertainment-oriented Wi-Fi connectivity for on-demand content.
