Air Europa has temporarily rescheduled its flight operations to Venezuela to ensure connectivity for its passengers following the closure of Simón Bolívar International Airport, the primary gateway serving Caracas. This exceptional measure comes in response to operational disruptions caused by the earthquakes that struck the country last week.
Contingency Plan: Valencia Designated as Alternate Airport
With the firm objective of ensuring service continuity and facilitating travel for all affected passengers, the airline will operate three frequencies this week between Madrid and Valencia, Venezuela. To achieve this, Arturo Michelena International Airport will serve as the designated strategic alternate while technical restrictions remain in place at the capital’s main airport.
This emergency schedule has been structured exclusively to provide mobility solutions for travelers flying to or from the South American nation, thereby minimizing the collateral impact of the contingency in Caracas.
Schedule and Timings for Special Operations
The special flights will be operated under a strict schedule designed to optimize connection flows between Spain and Venezuela.

Scheduled Times
Departures and return flights have been coordinated according to the following specific timelines:
- Madrid – Valencia: Scheduled departure at 15:30

Booking Flexibility and Customer Support Measures
In light of this force majeure event, Air Europa has relaxed its commercial booking change policies to swiftly adapt to the current needs of affected passengers.
The company has made multiple platforms available for user self-service and inquiries:
- Modifications and Alternatives: All ticket management and alternative travel options are centralized through standard customer service channels.
- Real-Time Updates: Flight status reports and last-minute operational updates are continuously available via the carrier’s official website.
Outlook on Service Normalization
The airline will initially maintain this contingency airlift to and from Valencia until the country’s primary airport facilities are capable of resuming normal flight operations. Through this approach, the company aims to safely and efficiently preserve the essential flow of air connectivity between Spain and Venezuela for the duration of the emergency.
