Avianca Launches Temporary Flights Between Bogota and Valencia Amid Venezuela Contingency

Aiming to support the mobility of individuals affected by the ongoing emergency in Venezuela, as well as to facilitate the transport of families, friends, and relief organizations, Avianca has temporarily opened ticket sales for its route between Bogota and Valencia. The measure seeks to ensure air connectivity while operations normalize at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetia.

Flight Operations and Air Connectivity Details

The airline will initially keep these flights available until July 10, 2026, offering special fares to mitigate the impact of the contingency. This exceptional operational period may be extended depending on how the situation develops in the neighboring country.

The special operation will consist of two daily frequencies operated by Airbus A320 fleet aircraft. Schedules have been planned around timelines similar to the standard Bogota-Caracas route, a strategy designed to expedite the reaccommodation of passengers who had already purchased tickets and to guarantee traffic flow for other users needing urgent travel.

Activation of a Humanitarian Airlift

In addition to serving commercial passengers, this temporary route serves as an essential logistical channel for transporting rescue workers, medical personnel, emergency response teams, and humanitarian aid. This effort is carried out in close coordination with the company’s social allies, notably the Colombian Red Cross, Ruta Animal, ABACO, and the Colombian Civil Air Patrol.

“We continue to extend our solidarity to the Venezuelan people and to all those who need to travel to or from Venezuela. This daily operation to Valencia adds to the efforts that, in coordination with authorities, governments, and social allies, have enabled the transport of rescue teams and humanitarian aid to address the emergency,” said Gabriel Oliva, President of Avianca.

Tickets with special fares are already available through the airline’s distribution channels: its official website, mobile application, Contact Center, and travel agencies.

Passenger Protection Plan

For passengers holding tickets scheduled between June 24, 2026, and July 15, 2026, Avianca has structured a package of protection alternatives at no additional cost:

The airline urges its customers to remain attentive to travel updates issued on its official communication channels, as well as the email addresses registered in their bookings, where detailed information will be sent as the contingency situation evolves.
