Emirates has become the first airline globally to offer an All-Risks Multi-Risk Travel Insurance, an industry-first coverage that centralizes all traveler contingencies. Developed in partnership with Travel Guard, this solution aims to provide passengers with absolute peace of mind from the moment of booking, introducing extended medical assistance coverage and support during complex operational disruptions.

A New Benchmark in Passenger Protection

The rollout of this product directly addresses current demands identified in the global market. Backed by the airline’s “Fly Better” brand promise and its duty of care toward its customers, this insurance introduces highly generous benefits and unprecedented coverage levels within commercial air transport.

Medical Coverage and Conflict Support

One of the primary innovations of this product is the inclusion of protection against conflict situations, which is not restricted by government-issued travel advisories. Specific benefits under this scenario include:

  • Medical Expense Reimbursement: Up to $25,000 for expenses arising from conflict-related incidents.
  • Complimentary Trip Extension: For a period of up to 30 additional days.

End-to-End Operational Disruption Management

Beyond conflict coverage, the Multi-Risk Travel Insurance covers traditional and critical situations that can affect an itinerary, such as trip cancellation, compensation for delayed or lost baggage, unlimited medical expenses, and emergency medical evacuation coverage worldwide.

Airline-Managed Services and Re-accommodation

In flight disruption scenarios, the carrier complements the insurance policy with direct ground handling and inflight assistance to mitigate passenger impact:

  • Hotel Accommodation: A service managed and backed directly by the airline during disruptions, including airspace closures. This benefit is provided as a commercial airline amenity rather than an insurance-derived benefit.
  • Re-routing at No Additional Cost: Should Emirates’ services be unavailable or if the itinerary includes interline connections, the carrier will re-accommodate affected passengers to their final destination, applying even to cancellations caused by conflicts.
  • Existing Commercial Flexibility: Complimentary date-change benefits remain active for tickets booked since April 2, alongside the option to freeze fares at no cost for 24 hours, ensuring flexibility at every stage of the journey.

Availability and Global Scope

The Multi-Risk Travel Insurance is available starting today at an affordable premium aimed at delivering exceptional market value. Customers can purchase it directly on the carrier’s official website (emirates.com) at the time of booking or add it later via the “Manage Your Booking” section, subject to terms, conditions, and market-specific availability variations.

Selected International Markets

The product is initially available for purchase across 27 international markets:

  • Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, and Germany.
  • France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.
  • Kuwait, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, and Italy.
  • Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, noted that the carrier moved swiftly to address customer needs after identifying a gap in the travel insurance market.

“Together with Travel Guard, a leader in the global insurance industry, Emirates is pleased to offer an enhanced travel insurance product that is as comprehensive as it is reassuring for a broader range of situations. With strong demand for summer travel, we are proud to offer our customers greater confidence when planning their journeys to and through Dubai when booking with Emirates.”
