Wingo inaugurated its new direct international route between Bucaramanga and Aruba on Wednesday, becoming the first airline to offer non-stop connectivity between the capital of Santander and the Caribbean island. This new connection aims to boost regional connectivity, tourism, and economic development.
“Today, we are making a connection a reality that did not previously exist for travelers from Santander. With this seasonal route to Aruba, we now serve six destinations from Bucaramanga, continuing to consolidate the city as one of the most critical markets within our network in Colombia,” said Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Commercial and Planning Vice President.

The new route between Palonegro International Airport and Aruba will operate on a seasonal basis during June and August 2026.

→ Wingo to Suspend Flights Between Bogota and Santo Domingo Starting in July
Due to strong performance early in the operation, the airline announced the early opening of ticket sales for the year-end peak season, allowing travelers to book flights between December 2026 and January 2027 at the same rates.
Bucaramanga Consolidates as a Strategic Market for Wingo
With the addition of Aruba, Bucaramanga adds its sixth direct destination within the company’s route network, complementing existing connections to Bogotá, Santa Marta, Medellín, Cartagena, and Barranquilla.
This operational growth positions the capital of Santander as Wingo’s third-largest operation in Colombia, surpassed only by Bogotá and Medellín. The market’s significance is reflected in current traffic results: between January and May 2026, the airline has already carried more than 77,000 passengers to and from Bucaramanga.
