Emirates SkyCargo has marked a historic milestone in the expansion of its logistics division by becoming the first air cargo operator to deploy the Boeing 777-300ERSF. This passenger-to-freighter (P2F) converted aircraft introduces optimized capabilities for global maindeck cargo transportation.
Operational Debut of A6-EBK
The aircraft, registered under the tail number A6-EBK, will formally begin commercial service with a strategic flight from Hong Kong to Dubai. For its inaugural operation, the aircraft will carry a massive payload exceeding 100 tonnes.
This operational move represents the deployment of a model engineered to maximize usable volume and streamline international logistics flows.
Technical Specifications: Increased Volume and Pallet Capacity
Emirates’ new 777-300ERSF introduces significant operational advantages and optimized space when compared directly to standard factory-built freighters:
- Payload capacity: It offers a total payload capacity of 100 tonnes.
- Cargo volume: It features 811 cubic meters of space, representing a 25% increase in cargo volume compared to the production Boeing 777F freighter.
- Pallet positions: It features 47 pallet positions, accommodating 10 additional positions compared to the standard production Boeing 777F model.

A Strategic Ally for E-Commerce
Due to its dimensions and configuration, this aircraft is ideally suited for transporting volumetric cargo. This directly addresses the demands of the e-commerce sector, a market segment that currently accounts for around 20% of global air cargo tonnage and projects sustained growth over the coming years.
Asset Optimization and Network Flexibility
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, highlighted the value of this addition to the company’s strategic plan:
“The induction of the first converted Emirates Boeing 777-300ERSF into operational service marks the next step in our fleet expansion and operational agility. We are optimizing our fleet assets by converting older Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft to meet the surging demand for air cargo capacity and to move goods rapidly around the globe.”
The arrival of this model complements the carrier’s existing freighter fleet. Through this mix of equipment, the operator has rapidly expanded its global cargo network, scaling from just over 40 destinations in February 2026 to 62 destinations today, offering adaptive and flexible connectivity through its Dubai hub.
An Ambitious Expansion Plan for 2026 and 2027
The integration of this modified aircraft is part of a comprehensive short- and medium-term growth strategy:
- Recent fleet additions: The 777-300ERSF represents the sixth new freighter to join the company’s fleet since March 2026, preceded by the arrival of five Boeing 777F aircraft.
- Projections for late 2026: As part of its expansion plan, the division will receive five additional Boeing 777F aircraft and one extra 777-300ERSF converted freighter by December 2026.
- Planning for 2027: The airline will add three more converted Boeing 777-300ERSF aircraft throughout 2027.
Through its fleet development and network reinforcement, Emirates SkyCargo reaffirms its commitment to playing a more prominent role in supporting global trade.
