Deployment of the Boeing 787-9 and the Allegris Cabin
The service is operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, one of the most modern and fuel-efficient widebody aircraft in the carrier’s long-haul fleet. The airframe is configured with 287 seats across a three-class layout and features the airline’s new Allegris cabin product, designed to offer greater customization and more options for passengers across all travel classes.
Deploying this aircraft type and the Allegris cabin on the route is part of Lufthansa’s broader long-haul premium rollout for the Winter 2026 schedule, during which the German flag carrier plans to introduce Allegris to a series of new destinations from its Frankfurt and Munich hubs.
Commenting on the milestone, Frank Naeve, Senior Vice President of Global Markets and Stations for Lufthansa Group, stated:
“Today marks a significant milestone for Lufthansa and for our customers in Malaysia. With the launch of our nonstop service between Kuala Lumpur and Frankfurt, we are strengthening the link between Malaysia and Europe while introducing our latest long-haul aircraft and the Allegris travel experience to this market. Malaysia stands as a key economic hub in Southeast Asia and an expanding destination for international business and investment, while its rich cultural heritage and diverse attractions make it equally appealing to leisure travelers. Our new nonstop service bridges these two worlds, making travel between Malaysia and Europe more seamless while offering our guests an elevated long-haul experience.”
With this route launch, Kuala Lumpur becomes Lufthansa’s fourth destination in Southeast Asia, complementing its existing regional network in Bangkok, Singapore, and Phuket.
