Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, has officially opened public ticket sales for five key destinations: Cairo, Dubai, Jeddah, Madrid, and Manchester. This announcement coincides with the advancement of its inaugural flight to London and the delivery of its first three widebody aircraft, marking the formal launch of its global commercial operations.
Network Strategy and Global Connectivity
The deployment of these new routes represents a fundamental step in the airline’s strategy to connect Riyadh and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the world’s leading economic, cultural, and tourism hubs. The company’s ultimate goal is to serve more than 100 destinations by 2030, aligning directly with the national development objectives of the Vision 2030 plan.
Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas noted that the initial markets have been meticulously selected to cater to key business, tourism, and trade flows. Furthermore, the schedules are designed to facilitate seamless transit connections for travelers originating in Europe and the Americas to destinations across the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Africa, and Asia.
Operations Launch Schedule
Regularly scheduled flights to the five newly confirmed destinations will commence on the following dates in 2026:
- Jeddah: June 14
- Dubai: June 18
- Cairo: June 25
- Madrid: July 17
- Manchester: July 23
Advanced Launch of Inaugural London Flight
Following an accelerated delivery schedule by the American manufacturer, Riyadh Air has moved forward the date of its first long-haul commercial flight to London. Originally scheduled for July 1, operations on this route will formally begin on June 10, 2026. Tickets for this service are now immediately available to the general public.

State-of-the-Art Fleet and Four-Class Cabin Configuration
The operational backbone of this launch relies on the arrival of its first next-generation airframes. Two custom-built Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners landed in the Kingdom on June 5, 2026, while a third unit (registration HZ-RXAC) has been formally inducted into the fleet. These aircraft represent the first three units of a firm order that will total 72 aircraft of this type.
The airline has introduced a four-class service configuration aboard its Boeing 787-9s, equipped with cutting-edge technology, universal Bluetooth audio connectivity, and traditional physical power outlets at every seat:
- Business Elite and Business: Feature a 1-2-1 layout with fully-flat lie-flat seats. They are equipped with AC power outlets, USB-C and USB-A charging ports, and a high-fidelity sound system integrated directly into the headrests.
- Premium Economy: Features a 2-3-2 seating arrangement incorporating privacy wings on the headrests, additional storage compartments, expandable surfaces, and four USB-C charging ports.
- Economy: Structured in a 3-3-3 configuration, offering six-way adjustable headrests and two individual USB-C charging ports.
All seats across all cabins have been ergonomically designed with high-density foam and premium textiles to optimize passenger rest and comfort during long-haul flights.
In-Flight Entertainment Innovation and Hospitality
Passengers will have access to one of the most modern In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) platforms in the industry. Utilizing Panasonic Avionics’ Astrova system, the airline is deploying connectivity technology focused on mobile devices, cinema-resolution screens, and wireless audio systems. The available catalog features over 500 movies and 600 television series provided through partnerships with global content providers such as Shahid, Disney+, HBO Max, and Warner Bros., complemented by a selection of over 1,000 music albums and playlists.
The travel experience is further enhanced by a hospitality approach that highlights Saudi identity, incorporating locally manufactured on-board wellness products from the Kayanee brand, fine-dining menus, and luxury bedding provided by John Horsfall.
In terms of exclusive amenities, Business Elite and Business class passengers will receive full loungewear sets from Kayanee, while Premium Economy passengers will be provided with a loungewear top from the same brand. For young travelers, Riyadh Air will distribute special amenity kits designed by Disney.
Sfeer: A Digital Loyalty Ecosystem
Alongside the opening of ticket sales, the airline has launched registration for its loyalty program, dubbed Sfeer (inspired by the Arabic term for “Ambassador” and the English word “sphere”). The program is designed as a comprehensive digital lifestyle platform that combines traditional frequent-flyer benefits with gamification dynamics, user challenges, and leaderboards tailored for the next generation of travelers.
Key commercial and operational benefits announced for Sfeer members include:
- A minimum fare guarantee.
- A no-expiry policy for accumulated points.
- The ability to share and transfer tier points between family and friends.
- Complimentary access to high-speed Wi-Fi onboard the aircraft.
Customers who register during this initial phase will receive the special status of “Founding Members,” an exclusive designation that will grant them booking priority for future route network launches and access to special events.
Commercial Channels Availability
Tickets for the new routes are now available for purchase, with bookings manageable via the Riyadh Air mobile app, its official website, or through preferred travel agencies and distribution platforms.
