Airbus has set an internal target to exceed 900 aircraft deliveries for the first time this year, bolstered by a strong close to the first half, Reuters reported. Despite this internal optimism, the company is keeping its official full-year guidance unchanged at 870 aircraft.
Strongest First-Half Performance Since Pandemic
The European airframer experienced a notable surge at the end of the sixth month of the year, consolidating its operational recovery following widespread supply chain challenges.
- Monthly Performance: Airbus successfully delivered 89 aircraft in June, a figure that aligns closely with initial industry reports estimating the monthly volume at around 90 units.
- First-Half Balance: With June’s results, the cumulative total rises to 351 aircraft delivered in the first half of the year, representing a 15% increase compared to the same period last year.
- Historical Milestone: This performance stands as the company’s strongest first half since 2019.

Key Factors Behind the Operational Surge
This acceleration in the delivery and invoicing pace stems from a temporary stabilization of critical logistical and commercial factors for the aerospace group.
Supply Chain Stabilization and the Asian Market
Industry sources note that this partial surge reflects Airbus catching up on delayed deliveries destined for the Chinese market. Furthermore, the manufacturer has benefited from an easing of engine supply disruptions, which had been one of the industry’s primary bottlenecks in recent months.
Second-Half Outlook
Although certain supply chain headwinds persist, Airbus is showing growing confidence in maintaining a robust production rate. For the month of July, a total of approximately 80 deliveries is projected. Historically, the company’s delivery flow tends to accelerate drastically during the month of December.
Aircraft deliveries remain the fundamental driver for revenue and cash generation across the entire aerospace and defense consortium.
