The Emirates executive team’s patience has reached a tipping point regarding the progress of the Boeing 777-9 widebody program. Clark confirmed to trade media that the current forecast for receiving the first aircraft of this type has slipped to the second quarter of 2027.

This revised timeline represents a major delay compared to the contractual obligations agreed upon at the program’s inception. According to the head of the Dubai-based airline, the originally projected delivery was scheduled for April 2020.
