French boutique carrier La Compagnie has announced plans to launch nonstop transatlantic service between Newark Liberty International Airport in New York and Dusseldorf, Germany, scheduled to commence in spring 2027. With this new route, the airline will become the sole operator offering direct flights between the two markets, establishing a new premium option for both corporate and leisure travelers.
Transatlantic Expansion and Route Details
The route will operate with up to five weekly frequencies during the peak summer season.
The service will be structured around the following operational and commercial parameters:
- Assigned Aircraft: The route will be operated using a new Airbus A321neo.
- Availability: Detailed flight schedules and seat sales are already open via the airline’s official website and global travel distribution channels.

Fleet Operations and Outlook: Airbus A321LR and XLR
Founded in 2014, the carrier currently operates scheduled services connecting Newark with European destinations including Paris Orly, Nice Cote d’Azur, and Milan Malpensa. It also recently announced the year-round extension of its Nice route into the winter season for the first time.
The airline’s long-haul network expansion will be powered by the induction of additional long-range narrowbody aircraft:
- Third Airbus A321LR: Slated for fleet delivery in 2027 to enable the Dusseldorf route launch.
- Fourth Airbus A321XLR: Scheduled to enter operational service in 2028.
These next-generation aircraft yield up to a 30% reduction in fuel burn and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft, providing the extended range and operational flexibility required to support the carrier’s long-term international growth strategy.
