Air Transat has unveiled its flight schedule for the summer 2027 season, adding five new nonstop routes between Canada and Europe and converting two Caribbean services into year-round operations. The strategy bolsters the airline’s transatlantic connectivity from Montreal, Toronto, and Quebec City, expanding its footprint across both mature markets and new destinations.

New European Destinations: Geneva and Birmingham

The summer 2027 schedule adds two brand-new cities to the Canadian carrier’s network:

  • Montreal – Geneva, Switzerland: This service will operate twice weekly (Tuesdays and Saturdays) from June 19 to October 23, 2027. The route targets leisure, corporate, and academic travel demand to the French-speaking hub on Lake Geneva—home to numerous international organizations and a primary gateway to the Alps, including Chamonix at the base of Mont Blanc.
  • Toronto – Birmingham, United Kingdom: The link will operate twice weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) between June 22 and October 22, 2027. This service complements existing operations to London and Manchester, placing travelers in the heart of England with convenient access to Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds region.

Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, stated: “We want to develop a range of destinations that complement one another and offer travelers a variety of experiences. Our summer 2027 program combines opportunities to explore new regions of Europe with an expanded presence in markets we already serve. By extending select sun routes through the summer, we also provide travelers with greater flexibility when choosing their vacation timing.”

Strengthening Operations from Montreal and Quebec City

Alongside the launches of Geneva and Birmingham, Air Transat will roll out additional nonstop routes and consolidate scheduled services:

Growth from Montreal

  • Faro, Portugal: One weekly frequency (Mondays) will be added from June 14 to October 25, 2027, serving the Algarve region—a destination the carrier already serves from Toronto. Faro becomes the third Portuguese airport served by the airline from Montreal, joining Lisbon and Porto.
  • Sint Maarten: The route will extend beyond the winter 2027 season to operate year-round, featuring one weekly flight on Saturdays during the summer.

Expansion from Quebec City

With these additions, the provincial capital will reach five direct European destinations in summer 2027, adding Lyon and Barcelona to existing services to Paris, Marseille, and Nantes:

  • Lyon, France: One weekly flight (Tuesdays) from June 8 to October 26, 2027.
  • Barcelona, Spain: One weekly flight (Mondays) from June 14 to October 25, 2027.
  • Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic: Service will be extended to operate year-round with one weekly summer frequency on Mondays, allowing passengers year-round access to Transat vacation packages.
