Lufthansa Group has announced its flight schedule for the Summer 2027 season, marking the airline conglomerate’s most substantial operational expansion since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The strategy encompasses the launch of ten new long-haul routes, a major deployment across the Americas and Asia, and a significant boost in flight frequencies across its six hub airports.
The new Summer 2027 timetable—open for bookings starting October 20, 2026—harnesses capacity across seven group carriers: Lufthansa, Discover Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Brussels Airlines, Edelweiss, and ITA Airways. Low-cost subsidiary Eurowings is scheduled to release its summer schedule at a later date.
The strategic focus of this expansion centers on the Americas (Canada, the United States, and South America) and Asia, featuring key route launches to Columbus, Phoenix, Edmonton, and Caracas, alongside the resumption and frequency expansion of services to Tokyo and Nagoya in Japan.
“The world is drawing a little closer for Lufthansa Group customers in the Summer 2027 flight schedule: a total of ten new destinations and even more connections represent not only the largest route expansion at our six hubs in a long time, but above all, a commitment to our passengers—greater choice, enhanced connectivity, and shorter travel times to what drives people,” stated Stefan Kreuzpaintner, Senior Vice President Customer Commercial Offer.
