Southwest Unveils Record-Breaking Summer 2027 Schedule With Major Expansion in Austin, Nashville, and San Diego

Southwest Airlines has opened bookings for its summer 2027 flight schedule, marking the largest summer program in the carrier’s history.

The new operational schedule, effective from June 3, 2027, through August 2, 2027, will achieve a historic high of up to 4,498 daily flights on peak travel days.

Austin: Peak Domestic and International Expansion in Texas

Consolidating nearly 50 years of operations in the Texas state capital, Southwest plans to operate up to 143 departures, featuring increased frequencies on existing routes alongside seven seasonal services—five of which are brand-new additions to its route network:

International Connectivity

These services complement its existing international network from Austin to Cancun (Mexico), Los Cabos (Mexico), Puerto Vallarta (Mexico), and San Jose (Costa Rica), solidifying the carrier’s position as the leading airline by international destinations and frequencies in the Austin market.

For summer 2027, the carrier will offer up to 220 flights from the Tennessee capital, representing its highest summer volume recorded at the station to date.

In California, Southwest will continue to scale up its operational footprint, reaching up to 150 daily flights during the peak summer period in San Diego:
