Boeing would be preparing to move all production on the 787 to South Carolina.
Boeing is close to making a decision to move production of the 787 Dreamliner from Seattle to South Carolina, in a strategy to reduce costs, Reuters said.

Currently, Dreamliner production is divided between production lines in Everett, north of Seattle and North Charleston in South Carolina. But with such low demand, one facility should be enough.
Unless there is a last-minute turnaround, Boeing is “almost certain” to move the rest of the 787’s production from Seattle to South Carolina, according to two sources.

This could be announced in late October when Boeing reports its financial results, they said.
However, several sources warned that the decision is still subject to final approval and may require further analysis.
