New airline Zipair begins passenger flights despite the pandemic.
Japan’s new low-cost airline Zipair finally made its first passenger flight between Tokyo and Seoul this Friday, after a delay of about five months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Only two passengers were on board the Boing 787-8 that departed for South Korea this Friday morning.

The low-cost line, which is owned by Japan Airlines, will operate two weekly flights between Narita Airport, east of Tokyo, and Incheon International Airport, and plans to increase them to three per week starting October 25.
Zipair initially planned to begin passenger flights between Tokyo and Bangkok in May, adding Seoul in July, but restrictions and border closures meant it was unable to take off.
