Cuba restricts arrival of flights from six countries.

Cuba reported that it will restrict international flights from several countries and tighten border restrictions from January 1, following an increase in new cases of coronavirus on the island.

The new measures include temporary restrictions on the arrival of travelers from the United States, Mexico, Panama, the Bahamas, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Health officials on the island reported that more than 70% of the new cases of Covid-19 are of people arriving in the country from abroad. They added that this decrease in flights would help control the spread of the virus.

The island set a new record on Monday for daily cases of Covid, with 229 new positive cases of which 136 are imported.
